Join us for another exciting season of youth basketball. The Markham Park District offers a recreational in house league basketball program for youth grades 3 to 8. The children will learn skills and drills commensurate with their age and ability. This program is designed to teach kids how to be successful in a team sport. Basketball fundamentals will be stressed including dribbling, passing, shooting and overall sportsmanship. The children will Learn how to play in a competitive but safe environment.

Come play the world's most popular sport! Soccer is a sport in which every child can have fun while learning about teamwork, developing individual skills and maintaining physical fitness. This program allows each child to participate in every game. This program is designed to help foster soccer skills, rule knowledge and game strategies. Participants will playa 10-week season. Fee includes team shirt; players must provide their own shin guards, shorts, socks and shoes. Practice times and dates to be announced.
Karate skills put children in touch with their bodies and help build coordination, agility, strength and poise. Karate skills release tension brought on by school and peers. The confidence gained through karate helps foster a strong, positive self-image. The mental aspect involved in karate builds self-confidence, control and discipline. The physical aspect of this program is enjoyable and beneficial. Karate can improve your child’s sports, school and social activities.
Our summer youth tennis program is an entry level tennis program for middle school and high school students. The program is taught by qualified tennis instructor with more than 35 years experience. The program is organized into 2 - week sessions. Each session includes teaching the fundamentals of a different aspect of tennis.
